Assoc. Prof. Selda Görkey

Assoc. Prof. Selda Görkey is a member of the faculty at FMV Işık University Department of Economics and coordinator of Applied Economics M.A. Program. Being a specialist of macroeconomics, Görkey conducts research in areas of economic growth and development, economics of technology, digitalization, labor markets and public finance and gives undergraduate and graduate level classes in these areas.

Having several studies including articles in national and international refereed journals, book chapters and proceedings, Görkey’s main area of study is economics of technology and digitalization. Görkey conducts an empirical analysis of the interaction between technological development and digitalization and macroeconomic variables such as economic growth, efficiency, and labor market indicators. Görkey’s research on labor markets generally focuses on labor market dynamics directed towards disadvantaged groups such as youth, women, and youth not in education, employment, or training and the interaction between labor and growth. Being a researcher on SESLAB Team from the start, completed her Ph. D. studies in Economics at İstanbul University with full scholarship from TÜBİTAK and conducted dissertation research at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne Department of Economics.
